Perhaps your country is better prepared at a federal level to deal with such issues, thus no real need to alert people of any possible danger. It is also possible that where you are located geographically may not be an issue for such flares. Many nations did alert their people during the last big flares. We even had alerts here. My
guess (totally uneducated guess) is that it has to do with where you are during the time they will hit.
