I understand that social issues effect students and schools, but a teacher taking a position on this issue is sending the wrong message. The teacher is showing the kids that people are no longer innocent until proven guilty, which is the direct opposite of their job. I think this poor kid was murdered, but that doesn't mean we can assume the shooter was guilty. That's what a court of law is for.

That's a damn good question. What are the donations going to? The mother, who will now get a $1300 social security death benefit for the rest of her life? The father, who will get the same?
