If this could be wired up in such a way so as to avoid a general war but result in Russia occupying Iran militarily, that wouldn't
necessarily be such a bad thing.
Providing, of course, that:
a) The Strait of Hormuz is placed under international control.
b) Russia doesn't allow the Mullahs to get the bomb.
Those are two very, very big if's however.
