That age group does everything "together" from texting an average of 110 times a day to online gaming to facebook et al their lives are very public. Even as far as porn, which to them has been largely destigmatized, they may not want the solo empty experience. They may crave peer contact, and a classic porn scene doesn't provide that. I'm not a sociologist, but it seems plausible.
I would have to ask how he comes up with those stats? Most folks surf porn privately and deny it when you ask them if they do it. So how did he come up with his stats?

The only thing I can see him doing is getting data from a search engine and seeing the percentage of people searching for certain porn words...maybe even just the word "porn".
Which of course doesn't even begin to cover the hundreds of keywords and niches that people search for.

Anyway...I'm just saying that I think his stats may be correct...but his conclusion is not.
My analytics don't show any decline in the 18 to 24 age group at all over the last 4 years (I didn't have Google analytics set up before that)

Plus I wonder what he's considering "porn". A LOT of people now spend their time on webcam sites instead of "porn sites". If anything I'd say that would take more away from pre-recorded vids and pictures than going to FaceBook.

I know I go to Facebook, and twitter, and Tumblr, and a bunch of others everyday.
But I also go to Musicians Friend, BHPhotoVideo, a pro wrestling website, and of course..porn.

I don't think people just go to Facebook and don't ever surf anything else. I think they go to FaceBook AND surf everything else too.
Heck right now I have Facebook open in another tab.
GFY in one tab, FB in one tab, and the online admin to one of my sites in another tab. And I'm going back and forth between tabs and I'm about to open my bank account on a new tab to check my balance.

That's just the way people surf and multi-task.
