The house I linked to was by Robinson high school, farther away from you. Back when I was younger and growing up there it was considered a troublesome area (early 80's to mid 90's). As stated above it may have changed a lot since then, been a while.
If I remember correctly, on your side things were nicer until you hit like Interbay blvd area but I could be wrong.

No offense whatsoever. I bought a house there when I was in my 20's (around 2000) and only lived in it for a couple of years while fixing it up. Definitely some interesting characters in the neighborhood. Outside of some grossly overpriced condos on the Westshore side, the neighborhood appears to be relatively the same ... and will continue that way as long as the Base is there.
