As far as I know he's not a rep but an author. There is his thread on some popular Russian webmaster board about it.
I still didn't get what's execrably wrong with his themes. He does not ask for the money? Perhaps he decided to promote his studio this way? WordPress itself is also 100% free, BTW.
P.S. I'm not trying either to protect or attack his themes because
I don't know him personally. I just wonder why do you think that a free theme (script) is a bad sign?
For example, take a look at

2) there is a privacy protect on WHOIS info;
3) the author (me) is Russian.
