exactly, I don't know how people along the way ever thought that embedding something made copyright infringement all ok

if anything, embedding something puts one at far more risk than if they were hosting user submitted content themselves, because they or the scripts they are running willfully publish the content

there was a thread on here recently about setting up youtube scrapers that I alluded to this as being an extremely risky route to take legally, but the OP in that thread pretty much ignored the possibilities I brought up in his zeal to be a wordpress guru
