This causes a acandal of course. Kind of sad really, not to mention eye-rollingly stupid, but typical of n american culture. Fact is judges should be encouraged to keep informed about what's going on out in the world, if only to stay current with community standards of tolerance.
I have no doubt there's not much worse than, as a webmaster, getting accused of something you really don't deserve to be accused of, and going up before a judge who has no fucking clue about the internet or online culture in general, nor the general standard of tolerance.
The customs and immigration (in Canada, at least) has a unit that studies all sorts of adult video and visual materials constantly to monitor what's coming into the country and to stay current on such things as CST, etc. Why wouldn't judges be allowed to do the same?
Yes, let's have the people judging us remain closeted ill-informed half-wits who judge based solely on the "good book" and it's writings from 20 centuries ago.
