The Deer Hunter.
From a subjective perspective, it really is one of the greatest movies ever made. The Deer Hunter is also an emotionally CRUSHING film. Absolutely devastating. Incredible film, a must watch.
also, 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's the BEST movie ever made. Pure art. Imagine seeing that in theaters in 1968? My head would've imploded. In fact, it still does. No movie ever made will ever come close to 2001. It's unrivaled.
