Give them nice little updates along the way. Make them into the scumbags of their community. Shame is a very powerful emotion, more powerful than guilt, but you have to know the right buttons to press. They obviously don't give a fuck about their reputations here, so take it to them where they'll feel it. Remember, these people are liars and thieves. They need to be dealt with as such.
