However, you could make the argument that if you didn't do something wrong to being with you wouldn't be in that situation. The police don't just select a random house, kick the door in and drag someone away, charge them and put them on trial because they are bored. Sure, innocent people do get charged and convicted of crimes - the system is not perfect, but the huge majority of the time when you are facing these kinds of charges it is because they have some pretty damn good evidence against you. They know that anything can happen in a jury trial so they want to make sure they get you one way or the other.
If you choose to play with fire you might get burned.
