No disputing that, but a lot of people get really screwed because of the way they do it. They hammer you so you have to plea down out of fear of being convicted and doing real time. That is just wrong. You should stand trial for what you actually did and not have to fear fighting the charges if you think you can. The tilt it in their favor, which isn't giving you a fair chance out of the gate.
That's a bad place to be in. Plea out and *maybe* go home, or fight it and face a lot of prison time.
