Many are also pre-screening affiliates. Which again, is not new. That was how it used to be with many (not all) programs. You had to show what you owned, and who you were, in the industry before they would grant you access.
It would be nice to see all affiliate programs go back to this model, as well as streaming only membership areas. Although the genie is now out of the bottle. Going to be a fight to get companies on the downswing to do much of anything.

Indeed - all your points are making sense and would eventually lead to an ideal market. However these can only be achived if everyone start to do like this at the same time, otherwise, both members / cutomers and affiliates will abandon the "rebels" which will lead to the "rebels" bankrupt
