There are people out there who see the litigation and it makes them want to pirate more, but that is just a small segment of the population. The bigger portion are people like my nephew who has friends that tell him what sites to go do in order to download music and they tell him it is perfect legal since it wasn't them that put it up. Then he tells his girlfriend who tells her friend who tells her boyfriend and it grows.

The litigation is not causing piracy to increase. The ease of use of the technology to pirate, the ease in finding sites to pirate from and ability to do all of this from your computer with little to no risk is causing piracy to increase.
