under that deal the record company is expecting to sell 500k in albums and keep it all (because the advance has to be paid back).

because the record company makes more money by screwing the artist over

You do it because if you can do what you say you can the record company will pay you millions of dollars to promote their artists. You said yourself you don't care if the artists that are signed to the label get screwed so go to the label, tell them that you can show them how to get tons of free publicity for their artists and how you can help them sell records and break artists using the tools that they fear and they will give you millions of dollars.
But as per normal you have a million excuses why you won't do it when the reality is that you simply can't do it.
