I discussed gay marriage with my dad (a hardcore Republican) not too long ago. He said he's not against it as long as they don't call it "marriage" and I'm like uh, what exactly are you protecting? It's pretty hard to claim there's anything sacred about the institution of marriage when 50%+ are getting divorced.
