When a kid starts growing up he/she needs more than just mother's milk. That's why teeth start growing, nature is letting you know it's time to vary your diet and giving you the tools to do it.

realistically, a child could receive benefits from mother's milk with the diet until 6 or 7.
Most kids ween themselves at about 18 months anyways...why a rush to get them off the boob before they are ready?
