I rarely presume to speak in absolutes, at least not on these kinds of subjects. But definitely yes, I've suspected for a long time that they "do not conflict".
I'm pretty sure you were in a few threads back in the day on here where I posted such thoughts. You know, back when you were still active in the dark side of adult.

In one way they are both very similar in that you have to be willing to take a leap of faith with either of them.
If you believe in evolution you have to be willing to believe that there was a vast expanse of nothing with small particles of something floating around in it. It was just there, nobody knows for sure where it came from. Then one day the particles came together and exploded and formed the planets and stars and our planet happened to land in the exact right spot so that it could nurture life. Over many millions of years that life evolved from microbe to creature then from creature to man.
Or
There was a bunch of nothing and floating around in this vast expanse of nothing is an all powerful being. Nobody knows where it came from or how it came to be. That being one day decided to create a huge universe and make a planet where they could put all kinds of life on it.It created everything and oversaw the development of everything and while human life that it created existed for thousands and thousands of years it is only in recent times (relatively speaking) that it has made itself known to the people.
