From all the responses to my question I am even more confused than before. Or should I say everyone is confused.

but, what are the consequences?
since time and beginning marriage was between a man and a woman. because they produce offspring.
so, what is the meaning of two same sex marriage?
to produce offspring? NO!
to love each other and care for each other? Yes!
If there was no monetary benefit , would they care if there was marriage? I am starting to think not!
So.. I am going to go marry my best friend. who is a guy. Even though we are not gay. I will collect his social security in ten years because I don't work! Thanks!
