Keep the belief, over the years I've been told that two cats were dead (separate occasions) so definitely not worth looking for. Both cats were eventually found alive and well.
On another occasions I was told about a guy who nobody had seen for 40 years, a girl's father. I was told it was impossible to track him down. I took this as a challenge, stayed up all night long, using different search engines, advanced search techniques, eventually he appeared in one search engine only, he showed up in Excite.com, I gave the girl his contact details and she spoke to her father for the first time.
My point is, that belief can get you a long way, never stop believing, that is the key. Good luck!
