Yeah, the fourth season is really bad. It's that shitty illogical writing that disregards the original character development personalities and any logical and just wants to get you to the next scene. I don't see Alan Ball's name anywhere except in Executive Producer status on any of the episodes, and even the production design is so clean it sort of reminds me of that old series CHARMED.
They seem to eventually do this with every successful series that they run out of story for or want to expand to a bigger audience (i.e Big Love and Dexter for two examples though there are more)
