That happens a lot as a review site. You need to update a thousand sites. You don't get to go into each one and do the work before you get access. You expect things will turn out fine, then suddenly you see (enter any of the crazy things a site wouldn't/couldn't list--which changes as the Internet landscape does) and you have to do something you don't want to do: remove a site and loose the hours of work you put into listing it in the first place.
It was a polite response. It's an unfortunate reason but not without merit. It's just the business of this business.
