I have used their service, and it cost me about 2000 $ to get my website built (exact figure should be 1950$).
It was finished about a year ago.
Now, after about 200 videos, it was no longer possible to import videos.
I haven't used that function for about 3-4 months, so I just found out 10 days ago.
The video import function never worked properly, I was always under the impression that the programmers were really not able to program the tasks.
The whole importing function made a very sloppy impression.
There were always errors when trying to import videos. It was never error-free. Since the video import still seemed to function, I just accepted that.
I myself had to figure out that when importing flv-videos directly, instead of trying to convert them from the wmv-format, the video import seems to function again. Although it can hardly be called an import in this case, it's just a link!
As if it is my job to figure these things out!! Any halfway decent video script should be able to import even the most bizarre of video files. I have only used the very straightforward wmv-format, which should certainly not cause any crash in any video script.
Even after figuring this out, the member's area has the most basic problems, the movie length is not displayed correctly, every movie is being displayed as 34 minutes 28 seconds (which of course is wrong).
The voting function (it allows people to vote on videos) seems to be functioning, but only after cardinal vices fixed it.
And it certainly hasn't been used very heavily, I mean the most we've gotten are may be 2-3 votes per video (and it already broke down once).
I wouldn't even expect the programmers to "come back" and fix issues on the website, 1 year after it has been finished.
But why would you even accept this project, if clearly you are not able to program it?
There have been other issues, like e.g. the completion of the website was weeks behind the scheduled date, I have to figure out the bugs and test the video import function, instead of them.
I did receive a discount on the total price, because of the late completion.
In short, I have now spent 2000$ on my website, and now there are paying customers that have a member's area where the video length is not displayed correctly!
Even the cheapest of tube sites gets that right!
I never agreed to sponsor a project, where you guys experiment to try to program your own video script!!!
If you knew that you couldn't do it, may be you should have simply bought a functioning one?
I'm sure there are plenty available for the price of 2000$?
I'm sure you will agree that e.g. a script like mechbunny is a little bit better programmed than yours?
And besides the (bogus) video player / video importer, what exactly have you done?
I mean, the site will probably not win awards in terms of the design?
