Yup it's free, but they should let people know if they sell their network to someone else, so they can move their sites.
If someone was buying my Free Hosting Network, I would let people know with 1 month prior so they could move their sites.
But I don't have plans to sell for now, been offered only 15K for my network, not enough to sell, my 50 auto-pilot free adult blogs on my own network do 2K per month with ccbill paysites and other paysite sponsors, and there are more than 100 webmasters using the network, and I know most of them are doing cash, so do the math.
And the network has never ever been monetized in 3 years, I mean no ads. I could not imagine how much would someone do, if they properly monetized it...
