Sorry for the late response, I did have some things to do.
The problem was indeed fixed. I'm not sure if it was just the codec update, but the video importing worked fine.
However, I don't think it's something worth celebrating. It took about 14 days to get rid of this problem.
Who knows if it would've been fixed if it wasn't for the pressure I created, e.g. through this post.
Would a well-programmed CMS simply have collapsed because FFMPEG had not been updated?
I have no idea, I'm not an expert.
But it certainly seems like a question worth asking.
Up until the last video import there were constantly tons of error messages. They didn't have an effect on the functionality of the website. But it really didn't seem well-programmed. I worked with at least 10 different video importing systems. The one at amazinghotmovies.com certainly ranks as the worst.
I always had the impression the entire video importing function was on the brink of collapsing.
It does seem like a good thing that they would even help me out, more than 1 year after the site was completed. There never was an agreement that Cardinal Vices would take care of maintenance after the site is completed.
On the other hand, as others have agreed, the value of the design would be close to 0.
The CMS functioned for the vast majority of the time (despite a bad impression and constant error messages).
The website had a voting function, which allowed users to vote on every video.
It didn't work for some time, but was fixed.
In conclusion, I would say the CMS should have a value of 500$, considering the voting system etc. may be 1000$. Still seems like I paid way too much.
But I do not demand a refund.
It would have seemed like a much better option to go with a tube script like mechbunny. I would guess that such scripts are more reliable and better programmed.
However, I was completely unaware of this option at the point in time I decided to open amazinghotmovies.com
That's the end of the story...amazinghotmovies.com is now being closed, for reasons that have nothing to do with Cardinal Vices, or the programming of the website.

I'm quite sure we agreed on a payment for the design, as well as "tour pages".
