Your right - Five million in the Congo alone.
But look at the countries involved... Armenia, Rwanda, the Congo, Cambodia, Sudan... No one cares about these countries. But when you do it in the middle of Europe AND combine it with a world war that involved nearly all countries it's a completely different story. You ask the average American where Rwanda is on a map and they'll look at you stupid, but everyone has studied WWII.
