The only people the generally try to boast about being part of some old school tie network are the same kind of people that like to try and seem important whilst being being entirely insignificant in anyway in the real world. There are no OLD schools down-under.

I have a good mind to contact the person you mention from paypal and ask them if they are actually discussing paypals tactics and policy regarding these other businesses with you personally.
