Many have found ways to escape the vicious cycle, which is why we have Tiger, Obama, Oprah, et al, but keep in mind that their success is fairly recent. Blacks have not been successful long enough to amass wealth that lasts for generations; Wealth that can change mindsets and influence black families on a broad scope to strive for a more positive life.

Remember the Civil rights act of 1964?

Does anyone here honestly expect an entire race of persons in American society to collectively be able to eliminate the dysfunction caused by hundreds of years of piss poor treatment in a time period of less than 47 years?

Really now, it's not an excuse for the problems that occur in black society, but think about it...really THINK about it.
