Foreign bankers, individuals and even governments (especially the US)were profiteering from both the war in Europe and also stood to gain from a war with Japan but a bunch of western bankers had nothing to do with the sovereign nation of Japan taking the decision to strike out and use military force against the nations in east asia. To think they did simply shows a huge arrogance and lack of understanding about the Japanese aims and mentality in the 30's and during the war.
