If the whole "slave descendants being bred for physical perfection" theory is true, why don't the Irish dominate the Olympics?

The Irish have a history of being sold (or just physically forced) into slavery that would make the average modern person say "WTF?" I'm sure the Irish have a few more choice phrases. Until America came into the picture, Africans and Irish were one and the same.

Fodder. Profitable. Property. Breedable. Sellable. Expendable.

America did not last long as a slave nation (compared to most civilizations), but they are continually paying the price. Every country on the face of the Earth had slaves. Only America is being held accountable for it, though. Everywhere else its all smiles, rainbows, and Unicorns - and backbreaking work in the fields - or in the factories if you're a Chinese peasant girl. Better to make jeans and iPads than to get edumacated! And - HEY! - maybe you can visit your family for New Year's every other year if you meet your quota and can get to the train on time.

Slavery is thousands of years older than freedom. It is so old that no one knows when or how it began. It existed among people of every color on every inhabited continent. The very word "slave" in a number of languages derives from the word for Slavs, who were enslaved for centuries before the first African was brought to the Western Hemisphere. Slavery exists at this very moment in Mauritania [a country in northwestern Africa], where 30,000 Africans are kept in brutal bondage
Slavery exists as much now as it ever did in human history - its just buried under the pretense of foreign relations and economic development. Saudi Arabia, anyone? Bueller?

The origins of slavery can be traced back to almost 4,000 years before The United States of America even existed. Go sue Egypt (I'd also add Greece to the list, but that joke of a country is broke...). Africans were enslaving other Africans before North America even knew Africa existed.

Who built the pyramids? It wasn't unionized contractors. Who's giving "happy ending" massages at your local "Health Spa"? Its not legal immigrants.

"The Bible" says slavery is an "established institution". That would probably be the one true statement in that joke of a book.

Get over what happened to your ancestors, and start worrying about what is happening to people today. It is the exact same thing. Not as glamourous, or hyped in the American media, but what happened to your ancestors is what is happening to people now. Today. Right this second.

You can bitch and complain about how your long dead ancestors suffered, or you can try to make one single living persons life better. I know what choice you'll make.

Its easier to plop your fat ass in a couch and bitch about how your great-great-grandmother was abused than it is to lift a finger and help out someone who is actually still alive.

And needs your help. Stop. Fucking. Crying.
