Overall, I think it is a good thing to use the measure of how someone treats us personally as the gauge, and not go by what is on the boards.
However, when there are multiple incidents, that is the time to consider that it might not just be a clash of personalities, but rather that one of the parties might be prone to major episodes, no matter who they are dealing with.
