Well, if you mean that in terms of moving your data solely into someones hands then I don't think you have anything to worry about. All the data resides locally and only a copy of the contents of the Dropbox folder is sync'd out to Dropbox. This makes it so you have a real-time backup that can be accessed easily on any of your other computers or devices.

If your statement means someone else having a copy of your data, then just realize all data is stored encrypted on Amazon S3 via Dropbox. Your surfing data that is not secured can be seen by Google. Your e-mai can be read by your email provider at any time is also likely not secured too. Once you connect a computer to a public network there shouldn't be a lot of expectation for data privacy. =)
