if you're going to get your family a cat, don't bring the kids to pick it out, even if you only have two kids, they will never agree and someone always ends up snubbed.
just go to a shelter, pick out a cat that is right for your family, and bring it home and all the kids will be happy just to have a cat, since they didn't know what options their were, all they know is this one.
