It's definitely an industry term, but it also accurately describes a style of filming that has become prevalent in our industry. We don't pigeon hole a movie by only categorizing at gonzo, but it is used in conjunction with other categories to give users an idea of what they have in store. For instance, a DP movie that is clearly gonzo would be categorized like this:
anal > Double Penetration
anal > Male on Female
Group sex > Threesomes
Gonzo > Anal
Gonzo > Group Sex
I could just put it in Anal Sex or Double Penetration, but would be short changing the provider by limiting their exposure and short changing the customer by not giving him (or her) enough of an opportunity to find the movies that they want to watch.
I'm really clear on what criteria a movie needs to fall into to be considered porn. But I wanted to see what other people in the industry though. I haven't gotten enough input from this thread yet to garner any information. Only 4 people have responded to this thread.
