A thread about me, what a novel idea :D
Yes, I did indeed. And I know what you're going to say next, "how was the fishing?" It was excellent.
I found out something about that lake (Nym Lake) this visit in fact. It's at the top of the water table for a huge part of NW Ontario, and no other body of water runs into it. No sources of contaminants or pollutants, it's right on the edge of a huge protected national park (Quetico) thus it is one of the few truly pristine lakes in N America. And the fish... the meat is snow white and pure when you filet them. The fishing and quality of fish don't get no better than this, is what I'm saying.
In fact I just ate a couple of huge Northern (jack) filets just this weekend that were from a fish caught on that lake on this last visit. I caught a nice 4.5 lb bass and a 3 lb bass. My uncles caught trout, walleye, and a few northern. The fish fries we had were to die for.
I may be heading back out that way again in August for a week or so, just to get a little more mileage out of the $30 license I had to buy in June. :D
I still have a big baggie of trout filets in my freezer, btw. Been saving them but I think their time is coming close. Will have to have a fish fry next week.
