Agreed - of course it is. But the sad thing is there's people out there with personal insecurities or inadequacies who read that sort of garbage and question whether they're abnormal just because they're not on Facebook.

I dumped my Facebook account quite some time ago for much the same reason. A buddy of mine sent me an email shortly after I canceled saying, "Enjoy your social suicide" - to which I wrote back and said, "I had a life before Facebook. Now I'm simply picking up where I left off."

I kind of expected this, however. There are certain entities who very much want your private data accessible - the IRS, homeland security, police, DEA, etc to name just a few. The drive to make people "want" to expose themselves voluntarily has begun....
