Have you read Kim Dotcom's Wikipedia page? It reads like a police blotter. It seems like every business venture he gets involved with ends up with him getting arrested.
He has already been convicted of crimes multiple times in the past including: insider trading, computer fraud, handling stolen goods and selling stolen credit card numbers.
The guys is a piece of garbage. I can see why they might have been cautious. You never know what a career criminal is going to do in order to escape going to jail.
