As far as who does what on GFY, I have no idea and I don't care. Based on their posts, I'd assume most of them will be fucked should a large event take place that put them at risk.

Considering I live in a country where the power goes out often and floods disrupt our food supply almost yearly, what do you think? I always try to keep a month or two worth of goods here, but we also have a large farm that grows everything imaginable and a water well, so in a worst case scenario, we will at least have food and water unless we're also hit by a massive drought that never ended.

Asia already had a meltdown in the 90s. Many factory workers lost their jobs, but the farmers didn't skip a beat. The funny thing about developing producer nations is, a total collapse could happen and most of the country would be fine. It is the consuming nations that are going to suffer.

Mormons and the Amish (especially the Amish) will be among the few who really could survive a serious situation.
I've often thought about keeping a supply but since I don't eat canned foods I am not sure what I would do with it when waiting for a disaster. I suppose I could donate it. In the end though i'd be spending money every six months or so for something that may or may not happen.
