Did you two happen to miss the beginning of the video where the dragon snuck up on the deer and bit its leg before it could get away? All it took was that initial bite and then the dragon simply followed the deer until it could no longer move.

A Komodo dragon usually isn't fast enough to catch its prey, but just one bite from it usually is enough to kill anything within a day or two. Recently researchers have dispelled the notion that the dragon carries deadly bacteria and now believe that it actually injects venom into its prey as it bites them.
