go for it. place it in a spot that won't take away from your current ads.
this way you don't lose your current stream of income, and if you end up liking this, then maybe move it into better spots later.
i tell my webmasters to KEEP their banners where they are, and to just plug this into their other spots since you can pretty much set it up any way you like.
