I watched the documentary after seeing this thread. I think the most bizarre aspect of it all to me was the fact that for a couple of years she actually did a lot of good to help build and coordinate the survivor's group, even though her story was completely false. Seemed like she found a group that would accept her, so her story continued to manifest itself and once the media got involved her ego got out of control and became her downfall.
