Why can't you think more long term than that? Your child might someday be laid off and NEED food to survive for his own children or family. Do you not think that perhaps you would LIKE him to be able to get by while he bridges between jobs?
That's exactly what my own grandparents would say when political discussions would turn to welfare and jobless benefits and foodstamps. They supported personally and voted in support of them because our family is so large. They *knew* that someday, at least ONE of their offspring would need it.
It's your own money going to your own children. They're not some abstract and distasteful group of people.
Anyway it's far afield from hair folicle testing.
I do wonder how people felt about states allowing medical pot versus feds wanting to drug test welfare recipients. Is it overgrown feds stomping on states own government if that happens or what?
