The kinds of bugs likely to be planted by girls are usually easy to find by physical search. Something placed in the location, a clock or toy or something, with a power cord or heavy with batteries. Highly unlikely if the girl is far away. A spy is much more likely, reporting by phone.
If you really got a keylogger, then that's tough luck. They are typically manually installed, not placed thru malware.
I'm answering this only because surveillance and countersurveillance is kind of interesting.
