Attention all you Guinness World Records fans! Are you ready to see some of the most interesting, bizarre and unusual people and events for the last year? Well hold on to your seat, because Examiner.com has received some leaked photos that take us into the making of 57th edition of the world?s best-selling copyright book, Guinness World Records 2013.
On Wednesday, officials at Guinness World Records released a series of never-before-seen photos of two pint-sized record holders who earned their titles earlier this year. For the first time ever, GWR brought together the current male and female record holders in the category of world?s shortest person.
Jyoti, who measures 62.8 cm (2 ft. 0.7 in), took the title of ?Shortest Living Woman? this year when she reached the age of 18. Suffering from a form of dwarfism called Achondroplasia, Jyoti has aspirations to become a successful actress. She has already had roles in several Indian films. In a couple of weeks she will be traveling to the UK for the release of the latest GWR book which is due out next month.
Even bigger news, but in a smaller package, is current ?World?s Shortest Man? record holder 72-year-old Chandra Bahadur Dangi, who measures up at a mere 54.6 cm (21.5 in). Besides being the ?Shortest Living Man?, Chandra also took the title of shortest man in history. In February he took the title away from India?s Gul Mohammed (1957?97) who measured in at 57 cm (22.5 in) tall.
