I wonder why it is that they allowed the Constitution and Declaration of Independence to contain such language. You are right, anyone can find a few quotes; validating their authenticity would be a pain in the ass. I am just quoting those two documents and refreshing your memory about the Pilgrims (which was a religion, just for the record). I don't doubt that there was not a 100% agreement, but they signed it and pledged to follow it.
