That really doesn't protect you from anything. WEP and WPA2 can both be cracked very easily by any script kiddie with a usb stick loaded with Backtrack and a youtube tutorial. The best thing to do is set your SSID to not broadcast, use WPA2 passwords and enable MAC Filtering.

Or just used wired since it's faster.

You should check out Defcon videos these guys hack into extremely paranoid secure test boxes for fun and money at a convention each year.
