There is no reason to believe that client did not pay after reading this thread (and posts of OP and liquider).
And no I do not approve ripping people off. however we do not know if code was shitty, might be just mistake which can be fixed easily. Sometimes that happens - client tells you "hey could you fix that and that", you fix that and thats it. Its called revisions. Sometimes cleint notices something only after few days or even later.
On top of that - you get what you pay for. If that was cheap service code might have been cheap as well. But its just speculations.
