I prefer Laravel, based on modern PHP OOP and best practices. The code is very easy to read, it has a growing community and decent docs. I've frequently used CodeIgniter (and KohanaPHP), and it's pretty good with great docs and some solid tutorials available if you're just jumping into MVC. I think I actually cut my MVC teeth so to speak with CI. I haven't actually used CakePHP yet. I did look at it but felt it might be too confining following all the conventions. I also think Yii and Symfony2 are both good choices. The next Laravel is a rewrite, and coming along nicely. You can use Symfony2 components just fine with Laravel.
