Guess what? I wasted it anyway. I voted for Bush and he won...but I still wasted my vote. I voted for Obama and he won...but I still wasted my vote.
I was looking at it like they were sports team and my "side" "won".
But it's not so. I "won" and the country still lost. And keeps losing while those thieves in Washington get richer and richer.
This time I'm not going to "waste" my vote. I'm going to vote for the right guy and for the right reasons. I'm not going to think of it like it's a football game anymore.
This will be my first vote that is NOT wasted. Isn't that what Democracy is supposed to be? Not voting for your "side" but voting for the person you think is the best person for the job.

If enough people who were fed up with both parties voted for a third party candidate that candidate could get enough of the vote that they would be allowed into the debates and their party would get matching funds for future elections. They could start to build another party that, at the very least, would force the other two to be a little more accountable and if this third party were good enough it might be able to elect some people into different offices.
