That was really weird. I've been in a few quakes in Montreal in the past and they were all small ones - like a light rumble and gentle sway... this one was so loud it sounded like an explosion. A big *BOOM* followed by a loud rumble. The whole thing lasted for about 6 seconds or so. It was so loud I went out onto my street to look for fire. So did our neighbours. We really thought there was an explosion somewhere. I live about 5 miles from the oil refineries and I was positive they finally blew. Glad it was nothing more.
What else was weird was our cat. It started freaking out just seconds before the quake happened. Pretty cool!
